Manufacturing Engineer - Inbound Logistics

Job description

As Manufacturing Engineer your mission is to improve methods, processes, and tooling to optimize production requirementsand material flow, apply knowledge of product design, materials and logistics, assembly methods, tooling and productionequipment capabilities.

Special focus will be on Inbound, internal logistics and systems, including reception, warehousing, picking, line feedingoptimization.

You will report to the Manufacturing Team Leader of the Flow Team.

You will:

  • Define logistics according to Lean manufacturing concepts, create, update and follow up assembly work instructions, train and support operators, work to maximize throughout, reduce cycle time, identify and solve constraints
  • Develop and maintain reliable systems to improve and sustain operations and guarantee an efficient and solid information flow throughout all manufacturing processes
  • Provide an important link between shop floor personnel and Engineers, being key resource for new products introduction projects and production representative on Project Team Meetings.
  • Work with individual projects that may be linked to continuous improvement, new way of assembly, logistics or whatever linked with the operations
  • Participate in project teams taking part or full responsibility. Close interaction with suppliers of equipment, purchasing, R&D and of course the production flow teams will be the key
  • Work with suppliers of parts or equipment or logistic activities on project or activity base
  • Specify, evaluate, select, and implement new equipment and fixtures, develop and execute installation, operation, and performance qualification protocols
  • Drive a Lean culture of continuous improvement and waste reduction, promote 5s activities to standardize processes, develop effective systems for capturing and analyze critical process data

Educational requirements

Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or combination of education and equivalent work experience

Experience requirements

1 - 2 years’ experience in a Lean oriented manufacturing setting is considered a plus

Knowledge and Personal requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with a scientific method of problem solving
  • Fundamental drive for continuous process improvement
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with common IT tools, including AutoCAD
  • Fluent English

Location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site atour plant in Montecchio Maggiore (Vicenza, Italy)
